STUDENTS: All library books must be returned by the 13th.  Check your cars, rooms, and lockers for books that belong to the library.

Reminder that the Drama/Speech Awards Banquet is Monday, May 12th at 7pm.  It's a potluck dinner so don't forget to sign up outside Tesmer's room.

Yearbooks are here and will be available for students to pick up at 3:15 on Thursday in room C209. No yearbooks will be delivered before then. If you can't pick up your book at that time, come in before school or after school on Friday.
We will have a few extra books for sale--we don't yet know how many. These will be sold on a first come, first served basis at 3:15 on Friday in room C209. The cost is $60.


 Starting on Monday, May 5th, there will be absolutely no charging allowed in the cafeteria.  Your account balance must be positive in order to use your account.  There will be no exceptions.

 Seniors, Chef Rodney has created some beautiful carved fruit baskets for you to view and consider purchasing for your graduation parties.  They are located in front of the window by the cashiers.  Order forms are available if you are interested.

Anyone involved in the Speech Team, One Act or Drama Club is invited to an end of the year Awards Banquet at 7pm on Monday, May 12th in the commons area.  Letters, pins and ribbons will be handed out for those who earned it.  Sign up outside Tesmer's room to bring food for the potluck.

Olympus Club Service Project after school Thursday May 15 - log some volunteer hours picking up trash around the school grounds.   Ice cream afterwards!

Olympus Club members plan to attend the Night of Laurels, Monday, May 19.  Come for awards and election of 08-09 officers.

Prom pictures from Arnold Clark Photography are in.  You can pick them up from Mrs. Risuglia in room C205 before school, during TA, or after school.

If you are interested in detassling this summer, please see Mr. Graver. There is a sign-up night Monday May 19th at 6:30.

Counseling Center
Dual Credit 2008-09
Any student who is taking a class next year that will be offered for dual credit and has financial need can see Mrs. Hightower in the counseling center for an Access College Early (ACE) Scholarship form.  The classes include Composition, PreCalculus, AP English Literature, AP US History, AP European History and  Accounting II.  To enroll in dual credit, students must meet academic criteria


United States Military Academy Nominations
Any junior interested in applying for a US Military Academy should begin the process now.  This involves an extensive application process and appointment by a state senator.  For more information and application, visit Senator Ben Nelson's website and follow the link to the individual academy:  http://bennelson.senate.gov.  See your counselor if you have any questions.

ROTC Scholarships
Juniors interested in applying for a ROTC scholarship can see Mrs. Hightower for more information.
 
 Any student interested in volunteering at Creighton Medical Center, stop by the counseling center to pick up a packet.

Common Ground is having Lifeguard  training and  CPR certifications .  See the Counseling Center Bulletin board for more information or call Cindy Reed to register 33-6419.   Classes start in March.

AUTOMOTIVE SUMMER CAMP -- Southeast Community College in Milford is offering an Automotive Summer Camp, on June 12th and 13th, for any student that's considering a career in the automotive field.  If interested, please see Mr. Patras in the Counseling Center for more details.

Volunteer Opportunity:
NVWG is looking for volunteers to help with the 28th annual Veterans Wheelchair games to be held in Omaha on July 25-29.  If interested, please pick up a brochure in the Counseling Center.  This is a great community service project!

Volunteer Opportunity:  Any student interested in volunteering for the Junior Wheelchair Sports and Recreation Camp at the Iowa School for the Deaf (in Council Bluffs) on July 28-August 1 should stop in the counseling center for an application.

The Baccalaureate Christian worship service for the Elkhorn High School Senior Class of 2008 will be held on Sunday, May 11th, at 7:00 PM in the high school auditorium.  Family and friends of the graduates, as well as the general public, are invited.  Seniors need to report to the aud. at 6:45.
