Girls Track uniforms need to be turned in to Coach Studnicka and boys to Coach Bloomenkamp.

For those students who ride the school bus,  Chief Bus service will be at the regular bus stop at 1:00 on Tuesday with only the north and south bus and at 11:30 on Wednesday with all of the regular busses schedule to run their routes.

State Farm Insurance is offering a Driver Education Scholarship to students with financial need.  To qualify, you must complete the program prior to turning 18, provide a copy of your parent's most recent tax return, provide a 150 word essay, complete 4 hours of community service, and fill out an application.   For more information, please see www.safenebraska.org.

KXVO's High School Heroes 2009
Tell us why you are passionate about volunteering and you could become one of KXVO CW 15's High School Heroes:  Today's top high school students are making a difference throught our community with their commitment to volunteerism and "giving back" to those less fortunate.  KXVO CW15 has created a special program that honors these exceptional students and showcases their contributions.  To be considered,high school students will apply online at KXVO.com and tell about their passion for volunteering.  Then KXVO will select one "High School Hero" each week for four consecutive weeks in May and feature them in on-air vignettes.  APPLY TODAY!

College Highlights:

Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors:  Summer school programs at various colleges around the country are taking applications.  Visit the Counseling Center website under "Summer School" for more information.  Or visit the college you are interested in and check to see if they have a summer program.

Any student age 16 or older interested in Automotive Careers:  Southeast Community College-Milford will host an Automotive Summer Camp on June 12-13 for any student intersted in learning more about the automotive industry.  To register, contact Rick Morphew at 800-933-7223 ext. 8317 or rmorphew@southeast.edu.  Cost is $20.

United States Service Academy nominations and appointments information can be found on the Counseling Center webpage under college planning.  Potential candidates at this time would be juniors.  The deadline to complete applications is October 31, 2009.  Applications are detailed and require time to complete.

Lakeside Hospital Teen Volunteers:  For more information about volunteering at Lakeside, call 717-8185 or 717-8057 or pick up materials in the counseling center.  Requirements for service:  14 years of age, parental consent, 2 letters of recommendation, a willingness to engage with patients, visitors, staff and peers, and at least a one year commitment.
