News from Mrs. Johnston's First Grade
We won the spirit trophy and practically every other contest offered! Thank you to our wonderful parents for their support. We know we couldn't have done this alone!! Aren't these the cutest kids ever????
We will be doing lots of testing in reading before Christmas plus one test in Math. It helps your child so much if you're reading with them every day! Review of Math papers is often needed and very helpful if any problems have been missed.
We will not have a Christmas party this year because we have an entire day planned, starting with "The Amazing Arthur", then "Frosty the Snowman", then a special Staff REader's Theater presentation of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and ending with guest readers reading "Three Snow Bears". Last will be popcorn and a drink and a time for sharing our holiday plans. It should be a wonderful day for our kids! If you wish to help in any way, please contact me or just call the office. There is always need for assistance!!
Please remember that I am always just an email away, should you have any questions or concerns. My home email is huskerann@tconl.com and my school email is AJohnston@epsne.org. I will always get back to you during the day you email me. Communication is so very important!!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful children with me!! They are all doing very well with progress on a daily basis!! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the happiest New Year ever!! Keep your children reading because we start the new year with a huge reading assessment!! They can lose so much with such a long break. We're counting on you to keep them going!! Speaking of going, I'll be going to the Bowl Game and hopefully bringing home a wonderful Husker victory!!!!!! Go Big Red!! Love to you all!!
